Join us THIS weekend for Seeds Philly at Cherry Street Pier ✨

It's Seeds Philly time! Here's what to enjoy

Seeds Philly is September 19 & 20 at Cherry Street Pier. Let us know you're coming by registering on Eventbrite!

Here's a quick rundown of everything good this weekend:

SATURDAY IS POWWOW TIME! TWO incredible drum groups - Youngblood Singers & Silvercloud Singers - will lead us through the day. Come with your dancing shoes on because there will be social dances for everyone to join in!

Grand entry is at 12pm. This is when all our dancers - over 40 Tribal Nations represented - enter the arena for the first time. Singers and dancers show off their skill and style throughout the day. There will be opportunities for you to join in the fun and celebration.

Around the arena, we have featured Seeds artists and El Mercado Cultural selling artwork, as well as various art-making sessions (check our website to register). We also have a special live kiln installation in the open-air garden by Sosakete Roger Perkins (Powowpopart).

SUNDAY IS PROGRAMS, PERFORMANCES, WORKSHOPS! This is the core of Seeds: celebrating Indigenous artists and culture bearers. The day is filled with Indigenous film, live demonstrations, stage performances, workshops, art-making, and art for sale. Stay tuned on Instagram and our website for the full programming schedule.

Featured workshops include gourd-painting with Priscilla Bell Lamberty, writing with Nicholson Billey, and corn husk doll-making with Dawn Spears. We're also featuring demonstrations by Sosakete Roger Perkins and Tchin. See event details and sign up on our website.

✨Thank you for being part of this beautiful and important journey for our Seeds team, our community, and for Philadelphia. We can’t wait to gather with you!✨

PS For our 10th anniversary - and due to unexpected funding cuts - we're asking our community (that's you!) to help us raise $10K. Would you consider donating $10 monthly and spreading the word?
